![]() Li Qingqian and Hong Shao's story, Gu Mang's suffering and his willingness to bear the burden of guilt and pain, Lu Zhanxing (I was absolutely horrified when I realised he was completely innocent. I don't understand how Meatbun can cram so much tragedy into a single story and do it so well. ) I sort of panicked, but luckily I survived! Meatbun did such a good job of making me sympathise with the characters though, the way my heart ached for Gu Mang within less than ten chapters just from the flashbacks that she wrote about (that moment when he begged for his dead comrades to be honoured with a grave and their names. I started it without reading the synopsis/reviews, so when I absently looked it up and found people saying the angst was worse than 2ha (which I dropped very early on because I didn't think I would be able to stomach the angst. but I'll be damned if this isn't one of the best novels I've ever read. ![]() ![]() It is now about 8 o'clock in the morning, I have finished the novel in one sitting because I couldn't put it down □ My sleep schedule will suffer for this. ![]() I started reading the novel this (yesterday?) evening, and I was hooked straight away from the first chapter. ![]()
